Jangchungdan-Park (장충단공원)

Der Jangchungdan-Park liegt am nordöstlichen Fuße des Bergs Namsan. Am 20. August 1895 wurde die Königin Myeongseong von japanischen Soldaten im Palast Gyeongbokgung ermordet und viele Soldaten ließen beim Versuch, die Eindringlinge zurückzuhalten, ihr Leben. Im Gedenken an diese Soldaten ließ König Gojong im November 1900 an dem Ort, wo heute das Shilla Hotel Guesthouse steht, den Schrein Jangchungdan errichten. Der Schrein wurde während des Koreakriegs zerstört, und die Gegend wurde im Jahre 1919 zu einem Park restauriert.
