Gayeongdang is a hanok stay in Ochang Hanok Village ( part of Ochang Miraeji Agricultural Theme Park) in Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do. The hanok was built by flower-tea master Kim Byeong-hee, using only Korean pinewood - and the rich pine scent still fills the rooms. The rooms are all ondol style. Guests staying in the main building have access to a living room and tea room, while guests in the annexe can enjoy barbecues in the yard. Visitors can talke part in a tea ceremony and enjoy flower tea and sweets while conversing with the master. The hanok can also be rented as a space for seminars, small concerts, and weddings.

Nuwa is a small, tastefully-renovated private hanok in the Seochon Village residential area to the west of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. It gets the light through a window wall in the living room, which contains a walnut table where guests can take tea, and a bathtub: weary travellers will feel better after taking a foot bath or half-body bath. High-quality tea and bath salts are provided. The sleeping space has an unusual round window, like a full moon, facing the bed, through which guests can see the top of Inwangsan Mountain as they fall asleep.

Stay Day Off is a hanok stay just off Jahamun-no - known locally as ‘Food Street’ - in Seochon Village to the west of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. It’s a 5-minute walk from Gyeongbokgung Station on Subway Line 3, so transport access is good. The main building comprises two bedrooms with queen-size bed, a living room and kitchen, and two bathrooms. The annex building is rather special: it has a bath and sauna behind a window wall with a fine view of the hanok garden. Wiyeonjae hanok stay stands on the edge of the Gyeongju Historic Area, so that from here Cheomseongdae, Daereungwon, Donggung Palace, Wolji Pond and the other historic sites can be reached on foot. It’s a place where Silla period relics were excavated during construction, and you can still feel the 1,000 year history of the Silla capital. All rooms are ondol-style, and all have bathrooms.
