Suncheon Bay Eco Village Youth Hostel is Korea's first hanok-style youth hostel. The village is next to Suncheonman Bay, a coastal wetland area of internationally-recognised importance. Guests can wake up to the sound of wetland birdsong, and enjoy the sight of thousands of stars at night. Guests can stay in either Western style or ondol style rooms, according to preference.

Joseon Wangga (‘royal house’) in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do, was once the home of Yi Geun, grandson of the Emperor Gojong. Originally called Yeomgeundang and located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, it was dismantled and rebuilt here in 1935. Now it’s a hotel where guests can feel what it was like to live in a Joseon royal house. There are 15 guestrooms, each with a bathroom and a traditional tea set provided free of charge. A pay-for breakfast is provided with advance reservations. Guests can experience traditional crafts such as herbal soap-making and smoke therapy. It is possible to hire the hotel for workshops and traditional weddings. There is also a luxury camping site in which barbecues and campfires are allowed.

The Wildflowers and Old House Excursion in Chungju, Chungcheongbuk-do, was the family house of the late Joseon period scholar Choi Eung-seong. The sarangchae and anchae both contain two guestrooms and are rented out as houses, while the gate house and the annex both have two rooms which can be booked separately. Renting the entire house is also possible, although there are no catering facilities. Sitting in the Old House’s pavilion is enough to recreate that old-time hanok atmosphere. Guests can play traditional games and have a go at gathering wildflowers, and making traditional foods like injeolmi and lotus leaf rice.

Buyongheon is a Hanok stay in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do, right next to the Jeonju Hyanggyo Confucian School. Accomodation is comprised of Toenmaru Bang, Daecheong Maru Bang, Large Daecheong Maru Bang and Big Sarangchae. The room is neat and feels the beauty of blank space. A culture experience program includes traditional etiquette and hanji making, while the Jeonju Hanbyeok Cultural Center and the Confucian school are reachable on foot. Jeonju Station and Jeonju Express Bus Terminal are 10 to 15 minutes away by car.

Samrakheon is a traditional lodging in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do, and sister hanok to Bukyeongdang. Samrakheon is a spacious old house containing duplex rooms equipped with toilets. In the shared mini-kitchen, simple breakfasts are provided, with coffee, tea, and toast. Guests can sample traditional crafts skills such as Korean paper-making, Injeolmi rice cake making and pottery - and can also get discounts on hanbok wearing and traditional bike riding experiences. SangYuJae (상유재)

Sangyujae is the oldest hanok in Jeongseon-gun and has been designated a Gangwon-do tangible cultural asset. Next to the old stone wall stands a beautiful mulberry tree, which at 600 years old is itself a natural monument. The house consists of a sarangchae where visitors can stay, and an anchae, in which the owner resides. Rooms are equipped with ondol underfloor heating and bathrooms - but not TVs, the absence of which helps guests focus on their companions and on the traditional experience. Jeongseon Arirang Market is a short walk away.

Ilrakdang sarangchae (일락당사랑채)

A must visit place for tourists in Jeonju, Ilrakdang Sarangchae is located in the middle of the traditional Korean house village of Jeonju. The very first of three enjoyments for noble man, as indicated by Menicus, the existence of parents and brothers with no troubles is what the place is named after. Standing in the garden, you can easily see the stone walls of Gyeonggijeon and also you are within the range of walking distance to Jeondong catholic church, Omokdae, Southern market, Jeonju Hyanggyo, and the wall painting village of Jaman.
The rooms are called, Haengbokchae, Sarangbang, Mitum band, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and so on. Siwon is a timber and clay-built hanok stay, part of Jeonju Hanok Village in Jeollabuk-do. It has four guestrooms, all but one with a small attic - so guests can have fun climbing up and down the ladder! The rooms have all been insulated and draft-proofed to keep visitors warm and comfortable. In the yard is a small garden and swing, and guests can play traditional games such as Tuho and Jegichagi - or even take part in a carpentry workshop. Must-see sites such as Gyeonggijeon, Jeondong Cathedral, Omokdae, and Nambu Market can all be reached on foot.

Hwangnamguan (주식회사 황남관)

Hwangnamgwan in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, is a small hanok village consisting of four single-storey hanoks and two 2-storey hanoks. Nadeul Hanok is a newly-built hanok stay in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, which combines traditional hanok style with modern convenience. All rooms come with bed, toilet and bathroom, and thermostat-controlled ondol underfloor heating. In the shared lounge is an automatic coffee machine, a water purifier, toaster, electric range and electric kettle - plus emergency medical kit - all of which are free of charge to residents.
