“Infinity Flying” is a dynamic, nonverbal performance that stands as one of Korea’s representative shows. Combining elements of extreme sports such as gymnastics, martial arts, and b-boying, it captivates audiences with the advanced skills of former national athletes, cutting-edge robotic arms, and stunning stage effects, including 3D holograms. Since its debut in 2011, the show has been a permanent attraction in Gyeongju and has achieved global acclaim, with over 2,000 performances in countries such as Singapore, Turkey, and Hong Kong.
The main characters are “Hwarang” (young warriors in the Silla dynasty, which is an ancient Korean kingdom with its capital of Gyeongju) and Dokkaebi (an imaginary goblin from Korean folklore). One day, Dokkaebi interrupts Hwarang warriors’ martial arts tournament. One chases the goblin, and the two accidentally find themselves in a 21st-century high school through a time portal. There, they encounter a group of students preparing for a cheerleading competition and join them on their journey to victory. This heartwarming story blends the spirit of Hwarang in Silla with the vibrant energy of modern youth, delivering a mix of laughter and inspiration for audiences.
The performance will take place in Gyeongju, the ancient capital of Silla, a city rich in cultural heritage and home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto. Other notable landmarks include Daereungwon Ancient Tombs, Cheomseongdae Observatory, and Woljeonggyo Bridge, all from the city’s glorious history. Visitors to this historic city can spend their days exploring its cultural treasures and enjoy a unique evening with a dazzling performance that blends tradition and modernity.
