Yudalsan Sculture Garden was the first outdoor sculpture garden to open in Korea, and is located just below Ideungbawi Rock at the summit of the mountain. The garden features 104 works of art on the themes of nature, culture, and sculpture that were selected through a panel of judges. Located between the different works are trees and plants, providing more beauty to the park. Looking farther away, visitors can see the major attractions of Mokpo spread out in the city below.

Mokpo Skywalk offers an unobstructed view of Mokpo’s sea. Under the concept “observatory over the sea,” this platform over the sea offers a 360-degree view of Mokpo's sea. There are sections with glass flooring and sections with steel flooring, which adds to the thrill and allows one to enjoy the views from all sides. Mokpodaegyo Bridge stands on the eastern side of the skywalk for an even better view. The busiest time here is when the sun starts to set. The view of the sunset is especially beautiful thanks to the smaller islets scattered across the ocean. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, so it's a great place eat out after watching the sunset.

“Mokpo is a port.” This phrase is familiar to Koreans as both a movie title and a popular song. Mokpo, one of three major ports in Korea, is a key center for trade and logistics. The Mokpo Port Festival recreates the traditional Pasi Market culture of Mokpo Port, offering a variety of food, entertainment, and experiences. Visitors can participate in live auctions at a ship for fresh seafood and enjoy the ocean view while grilling their purchases at the cooking station. In addition, the festival features a variety of maritime parades, navy band performances, and shows by art troupes from Mokpo’s overseas sister cities, all reflecting Mokpo’s identity as a port city.

Yudalsan Mountain (유달산)

In the past, Yudalsan Mountain was known as Yeongdalsan Mountain, because it was a place where the soul passes. Located in the city's center, Yudalsan Mountain offers a view of Mokpo and Dadohae Sea, constantly inspiring its residents' artistic souls. There are many places to visit, including an orchid park and a sculpture park with 100 sculptures. Visitors can also enjoy a panoramic view by driving along the 2.7 km-long Yudalsan Scenic Road surrounding the mountain. In addition, Albizia Kalkara, a rare plant that will vanish forever from the face of the earth if it becomes extinct on Yudalsan mountain, inhabits this mountain. The view from the top of Yudalsan Mountain is spectacular, and the sight of big and small ships passing between them resembles an oriental painting. Dadohae's sunset and Mokpo Port's night view from the mountain will remain in the hearts of those who visit.

Catholic Mokpo Shrine (가톨릭 목포 성지)

Catholic Mokpo Shrine is not only the starting point of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Gwangju, a central hub of Catholicism in Korea, but also the place where the first Legion of Mary (Lay Faith Community) headquarters in Korea was established. At the heart of the shrine stands the Sanjeong-dong Memorial Church, designated as a minor basilica in 2020, along with the Martyrs' Memorial Tower. It is a significant site where visitors can experience the history and culture of Korean Catholicism, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the blue sea and mountains.

Mokpo Marine Cable Car (목포 해상케이블카)

Mokpo Marine Cable Car departs from the North Port Terminal, ascends to the summit of Yudalsan Mountain where it rotates 90 degrees, then traverses over Mokpo and the Dadohae Sea to reach Gohado Island. Covering a distance of 3.23 kilometers, the round trip takes approximately 40 minutes. At the North Port, Yudalsan Mountain, and Gohado Island terminals, there are cafés, restaurants, and rooftop gardens available for visitors to enjoy.

Gohado Island Observatory (고하도 전망대)

Gohado Island Observatory was built to resemble the traditional battleships of the Joseon dynasty, like those used by Admiral Yi Sunshin. The observatory is a popular location due to the wonderful views it affords of the sea surrounding Gohado Island. The observatory also includes a rest area and exhibitions about Mokpo tourism and history.

Gohado Marine Theme Park is a multi-faceted marine tourist destination in the southwestern part of Korea, home to historical sites related to Admiral Yi Sun-sin. Visitors can access the island via Mokpo Bridge or the Mokpo Marine Cable Car. The island features a botanical garden, island greenhouse, cotton experience exhibition hall and garden, and recreational facilities. From the observatory, tourists can enjoy a 360-degree view of both Mokpo and the scenic Dadohae waters. Walking along the coastal deck trail over the sea, visitors can appreciate the stunning views of Gohado Island.

Mokpo Dongbu Market (목포 동부시장)

Dongbu Market is the largest traditional market in Mokpo. Established in 1972 and remodeled in the early 2000s, it retains its traditional market charm while being pleasant and easy to navigate. It offers a wide variety of items including meat, seafood, fruits, health foods, clothing, and general goods, allowing visitors to experience the nostalgic atmosphere of Korean markets. Visitors can also find famous eateries specializing in fish cakes and chapssal sundae (sweet rice sundae).

Daebak Hongdo Agujjim (대박홍도아구찜)

Daebak Hongdo Agujjim is a restaurant specializing in agujjim (spicy braised monkfish) and a well-known secret among Mokpo residents. Thanks to its fame, the restaurant has two buildings: the main building and the annex. It is located in Dongbu Market, Mokpo. Monkfish is a type of fish known for its tender and chewy texture and in Korea it is often cooked by braising. Monkfish, bean sprouts, and other vegetables are stir-fried with red chili paste-based sauce, creating a dish that brings alive the tender texture of the monkfish and the crunchiness of the vegetables. What elevates this restaurant above the others is their sauce. Dip the fish into a sauce made with chili pepper powder and it will open doors to a new world of flavor and taste.
