Hwanghak-dong Flea Market was named after the way how merchants travel from one place to another all over the country, as if like fleas hopping around from one spot to another, to collect rare and valuable items. This market was once a haven of antiques and collectibles, but with the formation of old-fashioned art street in 1983 in Janganpyeong, many classic art shops had moved out, leaving only used item and general goods stores. Now, visitors can find stores selling antiques, used furniture, electronics, clocks, jewelry, musical instruments, camera, and machinery – pretty much anything one can name. Hwanghak-dong Flea Market is also referred to as Dokkaebbi Market, to describe how even the most rundown items become just like new, as if like the work of a dokkaebi (Korean folk goblin).

LE SOLEIL is a dessert café in Yeonhui-dong that is small but constantly crowded with customers. About 20 kinds of madeleines of various ingredients fill the showcase. Representative menu items include Rose & Litchi Madeleine, which has a subtle rose scent and attractive litchi flesh, and Nurung Madeleine, which combines cream cheese and scorched rice toppings. Mapodaegyo Bridge connects Yonggang-dong, Mapo-gu and Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu. The bridge is 1,400 meters long and 25 meters wide (6-lane road), and was the fourth bridge to be built over the Hangang River, following the construction of Hannam Bridge. The construction of the bridge first started in February of 1968 and was completed in May of 1970. At the time of its completion the bridge was named Seouldaegyo Bridge, but was later changed to Mapodaegyo Bridge in 1984.
