Nodeul Island seems like an island floating in the middle of the Hangang River. The island was opened to the public in 2012 as a recreational area while preserving most of its original form. In 2019, the island was equipped with more facilities to serve as a cultural entertainment spot to the public. 

Cheonggyecheon Museum (청계천박물관)

Cheonggyecheon Museum officially opened in October 2005. The museum’s long, glass exterior represents the flowing waters of Cheonggyecheon Stream, which runs through the heart of Seoul. The museum has a permanent exhibition hall, special exhibition hall, educational hall, and an auditorium. The museum contains visual representations of Seoul before and after the transition of Cheonggyecheon Stream. The permanent exhibition hall was remodeled in October 2015, and now offers even more ways to view the history of Seoul as shaped by Cheonggyecheon Stream.

Situated in Yeouido, the heart of politics, media, banking and finance, Yeouido Hangang Park is easily accessible via public transportation. The park hosts many exciting events, from the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival in spring to the International Fireworks Festival in fall, as well as concerts and marathons throughout the year. The Yeouido Hangang Park also served as a backdrop for filming episode 12 of the drama "Divorce Attorney Shin (2023)," where the characters Seong Han and Jeong Guk discuss custody. It is a popular spot in Seoul that is enjoyed by tourists and residents alike and known for its beautiful and eco-friendly natural landscapes. 

Seoul Color Park (서울색공원)

The Seoul Color Park spans over 9,000 ㎡ of land next to the Hangang River under Mapodaegyo Bridge. It features a large wave-shaped sculpture, as well as bar code graphics and benches painted with 10 different colors that have been designed as the Colors of Seoul. The streetscape is designed with images and Colors of Seoul that includes “Dancheong” red, “Kkotdam” red brown, “Namsan” green and more. Sculptures and art works using the Colors of Seoul can also be seen at Seoul Museum of Art and Seoul History Museum.

Korean Martyrs’ Museum was opened in October of 1967 as Jeoldusan Martyrs' Shrine, in memory of the Catholic martyrs who lost their lives during the Byeongin Persecution of 1866. The name of the museum changed to the current Korean Martyrs' Museum in August 2008. The museum displays artifacts and materials in exhibitions related to the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea.

Jeoldusan Martyrs' Shrine is the site where many Catholic believers were executed in 1866 due to persecution. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the martyrdom, the Korean Catholic Church opened the Memorial Hall in October 1967, exhibiting materials, relics, and souvenirs related to the Korean Catholic Church and operating a museum. Pope Johannes Paulus II visited the site in 1984, and Mother Teresa visited in 1985.
