Sejong University Museum exhibits folk art, wooden crafts, clothing, accessories, pottery, paintings and calligraphy collected for over 40 years by the couple who founded the present day Sejong University, Dr. Ju Young-ha and Dr. Choi Ok-ja. This museum has its origins in the Soodo Gallery, which was built in Chungmuro, the campus’ original location, in 1959. Needing more space to house additional artifacts, the museum moved to its current location, which first opened on May 5, 1973 in a four-story concrete building inspired by traditonal tower design from the Baekje era. This building was later expanded on May 20, 1977.

After the university’s name was changed to Sejong University in 1979, the museum was also renamed the Sejong University Museum. The museum showcases unique artifacts to both scholars and students from home and abroad in contribution to the research of Korea’s culture, arts, and archeology.

Kansong House (간송옛집)

The 100-year-old traditional hanok Kansong House sits by the burial mound of Kansong Jeon Hyeong-pil (1906-1962), who played a significant role in preserving the cultural heritages of Korea during the Japanese colonial period. This house was orginally built by Kansong's adoptive father Jeon Myeong-gi (1870-1919) to us as a storage facilities for harvested agriculture from the northern Gyeonggi-do and Hwanghae. After his father's death, Kansong used the house as a ritual house for his father and often stayed here. Some damages were done to the house during the Korean War, and partial repair was made after his death.

The Mongchon Museum of History, located within Olympic Park, displays artifacts from the excavations of Mongchontoseong Fortress, such as earthen fortifications as well as other artifacts of the Baekje Kingdom period, offering a glimpse into Baekje culture. Hanjeongsik Daemun is a traditional Korean restaurant known for its set meals featuring nutritious pot rice and around 15 side dishes made with natural ingredients.
