Sikjangsan (623.6 meters) is a mountain spanning three regions - Dong-gu of Daejeon, Gunbuk-myeon and Gunseo-myeon of Okcheon-gun. As the tallest peak in the city located in the southeastern part of Dong-gu, Daejeon, it stands proudly next to great mountains in neighboring regions such as Seodaesan, the tallest peak in Chungcheongnam-do (904 meters), and Daeseongsan, the tallest in Okcheon (705 meters). Home of a 4.82 million-square-meter large, natural ecosystem preservation forest designated by the city, Sikjangsan is an ecological repository featuring plants of 224 species, 45 varieties, 187 genera, and 78 families; 45 kinds of mammals such as roe deer, squirrels, wildcats, raccoons and bats; over 100 types of birds; reptiles; and amphibians.
Sikjangsan Cultural Park is an ecological park that continues from Secheon Park to Sikjangsan Sunrise Observatory. The cultural park was established at the peak of the mountain, which had been regarded as one of the best nightscape viewpoints in Daejeon. A traditional tower built inside the cultural park adds a sense of classical dignity. An observatory from which the entire city can be seen in a single view is also located here. People of all ages and genders visit the tower and observatory to enjoy the expansive view of Daejeon.

Mokhyangjae in Sejong City, Chungcheongnam-do, is a hanok pension built in the style of a palace with beams and pillars of thick red pine. The exposed beam ceilings and hanji-covered sliding doors add to the feel of a grand old house. There’s a choice of rooms: Korean style ondol room (either 1-2 person or family-sized); a standard room with a bed and an attic; or deluxe room with a living room and an attic. The attic, equipped with comics and picture books, is a favorite space for children. There’s also a traditional tea house.

Donamseowon Confucian Academy was built in 1634, originally 1.5 kilometers away from its current location. It received a royal charter in 1660 and relocated to its current location in 1880 due to flooding problems. The academy's main gate, Ipdeokmun Gate, is made up of three entrance doors. Once inside, Yangseongdang Hall can be seen facing the main gate, with Eungdodang Hall to the left. Ancestral rites take place every February and August at Jungjeong Hall. Inside the academy is a shrine that houses the ancestral tablets of four prominent scholars who taught at this institution - Kim Jang-saeng, Kim jip, Song Jun-gil, and Song Si-yeol. Among the academies that served Kim Jang-saeng and his teachings, Donamseowon is considered the most important and influencial.
