The Baegilheon Head House (National Folklore Cultural Heritage No. 273) is the house that was bestowed upon General Yi Sam by King Yeongjo in recognition of his achievement in suppressing the Yi In-jwa Rebellion in 1728. King Yeongjo also granted Yi Sam the posthumous name ‘Baegilheon’. The house is composed of the munganchae (gate quarters) situated next to a tall gate, the ‘ㄷ’-shaped anchae (women’s quarters), and the ‘ㄱ’-shaped sarangchae (men’s quarters), which are configured in an overall square layout. The accommodation includes the munganchae, the araet sarang with a numaru (upper floor), and the wit sarang and the geonneotbang, each of which has a large toenmaru (a narrow wooden porch running along the outside of the building). Notably, the geonneotbang, which is connected with the daecheong (wooden floor) and has a cozy courtyard surrounded by a mud wall, was the living space for the eldest son of the family and his wife for many generations. As the house has been designated as a National Folklore Cultural Heritage, cooking in the guestrooms is strictly prohibited. However, the house provides breakfast prepared by the daughter-in-law of the head house free of charge. The toilets and shower room are situated in the back yard.

The Geological Museum located in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, is the nation’s first comprehensive museum dedicated to geology. The museum, established in 2001, operates with the goal of promoting public understanding and support of the field of geology, offering geology-related movies/videos, lectures and diverse hands-on experience programs. There is even a geology specimen center where samples are preserved for use by researchers.

Their signature offering is a unique version of samgyetang that includes abalone and shingled hedgehog mushrooms. The nurungji (scorched rice) served alongside is also a delicacy. In addition to that, they offer origui (grilled duck), ori jumulleok (spicy stir-fried marinated duck), and abalone dishes. Gyeryongsan National Park stretches across the cities of Daejeon, Gongju, and Nonsan in Chungcheongnam-do and was made a national park on December 31, 1968. The name of the mountain comes from the fact that the ridgeline looks like a dragon wearing a chicken's crest on its head. The topographical features are what make this mountain stand out and its mysterious folklore is what makes it so interesting. The park features many peaks, including the main peak Cheonhwangbong (alt. 845.1 m), as well as Sambulbong, Yeoncheonbong, and Gwaneumbong Peaks. This mountain is famous for its many interesting sites, with its fantastic rock structures and Yongmunpokpo Falls on the west, Eunseonpokpo Falls to the east, and Amyongchu and Sutyongchupokpo Falls in the south.

In spring, cherry blossoms bloom along the path to Donghaksa Temple, and during summer the lush green of the valley is very beautiful. During fall, the maple trees reveal their crimson colored leaves around Gapsa Temple and Yongmunpokpo Falls. The snowcapped peak of Sambulbong in winter is simply breathtaking. Gyeryongsan is full of rare animals and plants, beautiful waterfalls and a rich history with mysterious legends and cultural treasures. To the east is Donghaksa Temple; northwest, Gapsa Temple; southwest, Sinwonsa Temple; and southeast, Yonghwasa Temple.
