Daejeon National Cemetery covers a vast area of land spanning 330,000 ㎡. The cemetery is comprised of graves for the deceased patriots, men of national merit, generals, officers, soldiers, and more. Major facilities include the Memorial Tower and Memorial Gate for paying reverence to the deceased patriots, Patriotic Spirit Exhibition Center displaying photos and articles left by the deceased, and an outdoor exhibition space, where military battle equipment is on display. Other facilities within the cemetery grounds include fountains, statues, sculptures, pavilions, and Hyeonchungji Pond, a man-made pond in the shape of the Korean peninsula. Jinjamhyanggyo Confucian School was established to enshrine and orient the ancestral tablet of excellent classical scholars in 1405 (the 5th year of King Taejong's reign) and to educate people. More detailed information is not available in the record. The remaining building is called Daeseongjeon, and the ancestral tablets are 5 Seong, Songju 6 hyeon, and Korean 18 hyeon. One instructor, who received a plot of land and slaves from the nation, taught 30 students during the Joseon period, but after the Gapo Reform, the educational function disappeared and Seokjeon, a religious ceremony, was served in summer and fall with offerings of incense on the first day of each month and at the half-moon instead. Daeseongjeon (Cheongju Daeseong High School (Former Main Building of Cheongju Commercial High School) is designated as a Registered Cultural Heritage.

Daecheong Dam is a multi-purpose dam consisting of a 72 meter-tall and 495 meter-long concrete gravity dam and rockfill dam. It is located on the Geumgang River where Daejeon and Chungcheongbuk-do meet. There are three additional support dams in the area of the main dam to help control the river's flow. The dam also serves as a power source for the nearby areas of Daejeon and Cheongju. Construction of the dam took nearly six years, started in March 1975 and completed in 1980.
The observatory, located at Palgakjeong Service Area, offers a great view of Daecheongho Lake. A variety of fascinating items are displayed in the Water Culture Center on the left bank of Daecheong Dam. A nearby grassy meadow promises a relaxing and comfortable rest, while local delicacies such as spicy fish stew using freshwater fish and marinated grilled eel are a delight to taste.

Okcheon Hyangsu Baengni (100-ri) Bike Road is a bicycle path located along the riverside of Geumgang River, where one can enjoy the beauty of Daecheongho Lake and the spirit of poetry in the hometown of Jeong Jiyong, one of Korea's modern poets. Visitors can also stop at Jeong Jiyong Birth House & Literature Library and Janggye Tourist Park by biking along National Highway Route 37, which is famous for cherry blossoms. This bicycle path is relatively easy to travel on and is suitable for beginners. It became even more popular after being featured on the TV show "1 Night 2 Days."

Hagye-ri in Okcheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, is the hometown of Jeong Jiyong, the poet who wrote the poem "Hyangsu" (Nostalgia). The Jeong Jiyong Memorial Hall is located next to Jeong Jiyong's birthplace. The gallery has a Literature Exhibition Hall, which is divided into four parts: Jeong Jiyong's Chronological History, Jiyeong's Life and Literature, Jiyong Literature Map, and Exhibition of his Original Copy of Prose and Poem.
At the Literature Experience Center, visitors can learn more about literature through various multimedia platforms. The Video Room shows a documentary about Jiyong's life and literature, while the Literature Class is the venue for lectures, poem discussions, seminars, and other literature club activities.

Sangso-dong Forest Park is located at the point where the foothills of Maninsan Mountain and Sikjangsan Mountain meet. The road to the park is beautifully lined with sycamore trees.
