After Gyeongchun Subway Line opened, the old train tracks turned into a rail bike park. Gangchon Rail Park starts next to Gimyujeong Station and offers various attractions including large book photo zone, café, zipwire and more. The total course of the rail bike is 8.5 kilometers long with 6 kilometers on rail bike and last 2.5 kilometers on a train. Most of the track is downhill for an easy ride with a beautiful view of mountains, fields, and a river. With an additional fee, visitors can enjoy the VR experience section of the ride. After riding the final section on a train along the Bukhangang River, riders will take the shuttle bus back to the original location. There are also a 7.2-kilometer-long Gyeonggang Railbike that starts from Gyeonggang Station at a separate charge.

Gapyeong Naengmyeon Buson is renowned for its Pyeongyang-style memil guksu (buckwheat noodles) served in a light, clear broth. The restaurant's signature dish is the siraegi deulgireum makguksu (buckwheat noodles with dried radish leaf and perilla oil). Siraegi, made from dried cabbage leaves or radish leaves, are rich in vitamins. When placed on top of memil myeon (buckwheat noodles) and mixed with deulgireum (perilla oil) and soy sauce seasoning, it creates a uniquely delightful flavor. Complementing this dish are side servings of yeolmu kimchi (young summer radish kimchi) and tangy mujeorim (pickled radish). Additionally, their gamja jeon (potato pancake) is noteworthy for its savory taste and crispy texture.

The area of Gongjicheon Stream connected to the Bukhangang River is a shelter in the middle of Chuncheon City. This recreation area comprises various facilities along both sides of the Gongjicheon Stream, including Gongjicheon Sculpture Park, Uiam Park, Memorial Hall for Ethiopian Veterans in the Korean War, inline skating rink, outdoor stage, and fountain. Visitors can cross the water easily through the Gongjicheon Bridge and the lower pedestrian bridge. The waterside trail and the bike path are popular among citizens with the seasonal scenic view. In particular, cherry blossom attracts many visitors in spring. There is a bicycle rental stand nearby the stream. It is recommended to enjoy biking around the Gongjicheon Stream or along the Uiamho Bike Path. Another interesting ride is a pedal boat with which visitors can create a romantic memory with a splendid scenery of the Gongjicheon Stream.

The Literary Village of Kim You Jeong (김유정문학촌)

The Literary Village of Kim You Jeong was established on the site of the birth home of Kim, in order to commemorate Kim You-jeong who left various great short story novels of Korea’s modern times, such as Spring, Spring (1935), and Camellia Flower (1936). It was opened in 2002, consisting of the Birth Home of Kim You-jeong, Memorial Hall, foot-operated mortar, etc. Then, in 2016, various facilities, such as Kim You-jeong’s Story House, outdoor stage, experience room, and Nangman Nuri were additionally built across the Literary Village of Kim You-jeong. The current birth home with the square-shaped structure, which is the typical hanok (traditional Korean house) style, was restored according to historical research by Kim’s relatives and students. The Memorial Hall provides information and displays artifacts related to Kim You-jeong’s life and works. Kim You-jeong’s Story House shows three-dimensional exhibits and videos related to his works and life. Various sculptures made with the themes of Kim’s short story novels are placed throughout its outside area. It is recommended to walk along the Sille Story Road after visiting the Literary Village. The Sille Story Road is a trail, which is a literature tour, consisting of the places that appeared in Kim’s novels with the background of his hometown.
