Seolmaejae Recreational Forest is located around Seolmaejae Pass, named for the apricot blossoms ('mae') that would bloom in the snow ('seol')-filled pass ('jae'). Lemongrass Pension is a private pension nestled next to a clean stream at the foot of Sorisan Mountain in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi-do Province. The host lives on the premises to keep the facilities clean and offers friendly services. All five guest rooms are private two-story buildings, which come in difference sizes for groups of two, four, six, and eight guests. As soon as you open the door to the guest room, you can see a full wall window that shows the beautiful scenery of the mountain. Inside Lemon Balm Room, which is the biggest guest room that can accommodate eight guests, there is a fireplace which creates the feel of a private cottage. It even has a karaoke machine. The two-story Chamomile Room can accommodate six guests. On the first floor, there is a bed room and a living room. There is a cute little attic on the second floor. At night, you can watch stars pouring through the ceiling. As for the rest of the guest rooms, there is a kitchen on the first floor and the second floor is decorated as a bed room. All guest rooms have a self-contained kitchen with a refrigerator, a microwave, and tableware. In addition to this, there is an exclusive indoor barbecue area as well. The pension also has a front lawn that is well maintained. The front lawn is connected to a deck and there are also convenient facilities such as bench and rocking chair. In particular, the pension has an outdoor barbecue area that is shared by all guests. You can enjoy the luxury of having a meal over the panoramic view of Sorisan Mountain. There are also complementary facilities that the guests can use conveniently including cafeteria, foot volleyball court, and baseball court. Vivaldi Park is only 10 minutes away from the pension. Yangpyeong Wildflower Arboretum, Semiwon, and Gwangtan Recreation Area are also located nearby.

Pungsuwon was the first catholic village in which over 40 faithful from Yongin (Gyeonggi-do), led by Sin Tae-bo (or St. Peter), settled to escape the wrath of Sinyubakhae (religious persecution of Catholics) of 1801. Over a period of 80 years, the settlers had led their religious lives without a priest until Father Le Merre (a French priest) came to the village in 1888. Succeeding Le Merre in 1896, Father Jeong Gyu-ha (or Augustino), along with Chinese engineers, began to build Pungsuwon Cathedral.

Completed in 1907 by the faithful, the cathedral still remains a beautiful building even after 110 years; it is a popular spot for visitors, having frequently appeared in Korean dramas and films such as “Love Letter (1995 MBC miniseries).” It is the first cathedral built by a Korean priest as well as in Gangwon-do; it is the fourth cathedral built in Korea. Pungsuwon Cathedral was designated as Gangwon-do Local Cultural Property No.69 in 1982.

The Yangpyeong Wild Flower Arboretum has several major facilities. The Nature Ecology Museum showcases a natural ecology model structure with educational videos. The Catholic Church in Pungsuwon was built mainly by believers who migrated to escape Catholic persecution. Pungsuwon Catholic Church is the 4th Catholic Church built in Korea, and the first Catholic Church built by a Korean priest. The Pungsuwon parish had jurisdiction over 29 public offices in 12 cities and counties, including Chuncheon, Wonju, Hwacheon, Yanggu, Hongcheon, Hoengseong, Pyeongchang, and Yangpyeong. Located in Yuhyeon-ri, Seowon-myeon, Hoengseong-gun, Pungsuwon Catholic Church was designated as a tangible cultural property of Gangwon-do in 1982. The Pungsuwon Museum is located behind the Pungsuwon Catholic Church and is a relics exhibition hall consisting of 3 exhibition facilities on the 2nd floor. During the persecution of the Catholic Church, over 1,000 objects used by priests to celebrate mass and 1,000 relics that give a glimpse into the lives of the ancestors in the past are exhibited.

Museum SAN (Space Art Nature) opened in May 2013 in a minimalist concrete building designed by famous architect Tadao Ando. The museum also features artworks by James Turrell, who focuses on light and space. The museum spreads in a line from the Welcome Center to the Flower Garden, Water Garden, main building, Meditation Hall, Stone Garden, and finally, James Turrell Hall. The main building features four wings designed using squares, triangles, and circles, connecting walls, the sky, and people. In addition to the permanent and special exhibitions, the museum also offers hands-on experience programs.
