Yeosu Station began operations on December 25, 1930 as an ordinary station on the new railway connecting Gwangju and Yeosu. Later, the site was used as a venue for Yeosu World Expo, so the station was moved to Deokchung-dong and renamed as Yeosu Expo Station on October 1, 2011.

Manseong-ri Black Sand Beach is located 3 kilometers to the north along the coastal road from Yeosu EXPO Station. The beach, 540 meters in length and 25 meters in x_width, has an average water temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The black sand is said to help blood circulation and remove toxins from the body.

Yeosu Ocean Railbike is comprised of a 3.5-kilometer open track that follows the rocky coast of Yeosu. The track takes passengers along the coastal line through the open air and a tunnel course at a leisurely pace. Hanhwa Aqua Planet Yeosu is the second largest aquarium in Korea and the first to be built entirely aboveground. Opened in 2012 with the Yeosu World Expo, the aquarium is an environmentally friendly building, using solar power for most of its energy use. The aquarium is divided into different sections such as Ocean Life, Marine Life, and Aqua Forest, as well as a hands-on experience zone. There are approximately 55,000 marine animals of about 300 species including rare animals such as beluga (white whale) and baikal seal living in the aquarium.

Dolsan Park, located across from Dolsan Bridge, was created in 1987 on land spanning over 287,000 square meters. A teahouse inside the park was originally a TV drama shooting set. The teahouse offers a fine view of Dolsan Bridge, so visitors often stop by to drink tea while enjoying the view. The view point at the park also overlooks magnificent sunsets over Dolsan Bridge and exquisite night views of Dolsan Bridge, Marine Park, and Janggundo Island. The Memorial Time Capsule, containing various materials related to the merger of Yeosu city, was buried at the center of park in 1994 and will be opened in 2094.
