The Korea-India Artist Camp provides the opportunity for 10 artists from Korea and 10 artists from India to share styles and cultures through a range of programs including creating artworks together and attending workshops. Since opening in 1999, the owner of Jasmine has been the talk of the town because of his good nature. He had been featured in the local newspapers for his good deeds, such as providing food to neighbors in need and offering scholarship money to students from unprevileged families, with the belief that people should share even in general tough times.

The owner is very enthusiastic about serving customers the right way. He even hired a Chinese cook for tourists from China and Taiwan who came to Chuncheon because of Hallyu, or the Korean wave. In addition to authentic Chinese dishes for Chinese customers, the restaurant also serves other types of Chinese dishes that suit the tastes of Koreans. With the management philosophy that fresh ingredients are a must in bringing out the best flavor, the restaurant owner uses seafood from Mokpo and vegetables from Chuncheon in preparing delicious Chinese dishes for customers. The owner even holds a meeting every morning with the staff to provide better dishes and service.

Chuncheon Folk Flea Market, which is 5 min walk from Namchuncheon Station, is located below the Gyeongchun Line railway bridge connecting Namchuncheon Station with Chuncheon Station. The market was originally built over the covered Yaksacheon Stream, but with the ecosystem restoration project of the Yaksacheon Stream, the market was relocated to the current position at the end of 2010. It covers a distance of about 700 m and is packed with some 140 stores. It also holds its fifth-day market (opened every five days on dates of the month whose last digit is the 2nd or 7th). On the opening days of the fifth-day market, it is filled with various kinds of street stalls selling farming products, fresh fish and seafood, snacks, and miscellaneous goods. Visitors can also try diverse dishes, including Gangwon-do’s local dishes such as buckwheat pancake, buckwheat crepes, and red chili paste pancake, and other dishes such as spicy stir-fried chicken, raw meat dish, and noodle soup. The nighttime market opens Friday to Sunday from spring to autumn.

The Jarasum International Jazz Festival is held every October on the beautiful Jaraseom Island in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. During the festival, world-famous jazz artists come together to delight audiences with the smooth vibes of live jazz.

As a Green Life Honorary Ambassador, the festival is also passionate about environmental protection. In order to share the external growth with the community, the festival holds Gapyeong Band Contest, publishes Gapyeong Restaurant Guidebook, and produces Jazz Makgeolli and Jazz Wine made from the region’s produce.
