Gayasan Mountain stretches along the border of Gyeongsangnam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do in an area of approximately 76 square kilometers. The mountain's peak, Sangwangbong Peak, reaches 1,430 meters above sea level. Gayasan Mountain was designated as Scenic Site No. 5 in 1966 and National Park No. 9 in 1972 due to its breathtaking scenery. Gayasan Mountain is known to offer one of the best scenic views in the country and also as the home of Haeinsa Temple.

The National Center for Forest Therapy, Gimcheon, is situated at the foot of Sudosan Mountain (800 meters above sea level) in Jeungsan-myeon, Gimcheon-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Daegacheongyeogok Valley starts just past Seongju Dam and winds its way towards Cheongamsagyegok Valley in Gimcheon city. Chuwoojae is a hanok stay in the middle of Gaesil Village, Gyeongsangbuk-do - hometown of the descendants of Joseon scholar Kim Jong-jik. There are two buildings in the hanok - a main building and a sarangchae (men’s room) - which can be booked separately; both are equipped with toilet, bathroom and kitchen facilities. Deokdong House is an elegant hanok standing in Gaesil Village, Gyeongsangbuk-do - hometown of the descendants of Joseon scholar Kim Jong-jik.
