Seoraksan Mountain, the highest amid the Taebaek Mountain Range, boasts beautiful landscape and scenery all year round. To the east of Hangyeryeong and Misiryeong Passes is classified as the outer section ("Oeseorak"), to the west is the inner section ("Naeseorak"); and to the south of Hangyeryeong Pass as the southern section ("Namseorak").
The southern section is famous for its mineral water, hot springs, and waterfalls including Yongsopokpo, Sibipokpo, and Yeosinpokpo Falls. Jeongbongsan Mountain (1,424.2 meters) is also included in the area. There are also several different hiking courses varying in distance and duration.

Sokcho Expo Tower in the area of Cheongchoho Lake, Joyang-dong, is an observatory tower set in a park surrounded by mountains and lakes.
The tower is 73.4m in x_height and can accommodate up to 100 visitors at once. From the observation platform, visitors can enjoy a complete view of the Sokcho area, including Ulsanbawi Rock and Daecheongbong Peak in Seoraksan Mountain, the East Sea and downtown Sokcho. The view around sunset is especially picturesque and the migratory bird habitat of Cheongchoho Lake is also located near the tower.

Sibiseonnyeotang Valley (Valley of the Twelve Angels’ Bath) is a beautiful valley filled with water flowing through a cascade of waterfalls and pools. In the past, there were 12 of each, although the size and shape has changed over time. The valley also features many uniquely shaped rocks and a forest comprised of many types of trees, including maple, pine nut, and pine trees. The path passing through the V-shaped valley crosses the stream often, so visiting after heavy rainfall is not recommended.

The Do Hotel stands just in front of Cheongcho Lake Park in Sokcho, Gangwon-do. Thanks to this location, early-rising guests can watch the sunrise over Cheongcho Lake; and year-round, the lake and park make this a great spot for photos. Cheongchoho Lake Park is where the 1999 International Tourism & Culture Expo was held. Benches are scattered around the park for resting in the shade of trees. From the top of the Expo Tower, one can see a panoramic view of Cheongchoho Lake, Cheongchoho Lake Park, the East Sea, and even Jodo Island. Located on the southernmost point of Sokcho, Daephohang Port is known as a place to find quality fish with the rise of Seoraksan Mountain as a popular tourist destination. However, the port was a well-known port even before Sokcho existed. On a map of Korea that was published right after the Korean War, Daepohang Port can be found with other notable ports while the city of Sokcho is not indicated. With the opening of Sokcho and Sokcho Port in 1942, Daepohang Port became a secluded port visited by few fishing boats.

Bangtaesan National Recreational Forest is mostly comprised of natural forests, with some man-made sections included. The recreational forest is located in the valley between Guryongdeokbong (alt. 1,388 m) and Jueokbong (alt. 1,443 m) Peaks. The area is known for its beautiful scenery like the two-tier waterfall and Madangbawi Rock. The varied trees provide fantastic foliage year around, especially in autumn. Wild animals like rabbits, roe deer, and squirrels inhabit the forest.

Ilchulbong Hoetjip is known for offering a plentiful fresh raw fish. The menu features a variety of dishes made with fresh, wild-caught fish purchased at an early morning auction. Their hoe (sliced raw fish) is served with side dishes of seasonal seafood and delicious maeuntang (spicy fish stew). The restaurant is located on the waterfront, enabling visitors to dine while enjoying the view of the East Sea. It also features a rooftop on the 5th floor.

Sokcho Marina is a great place to visit with family members in the maritime city of Sokcho. Looking at the East Sea is lovely, but sailing through the blue sea is even more enjoyable. Sokcho Marina has a 12-seater cruise yacht suited for family and friends as well as a sailing yacht where passengers can soak up the romantic mood. By the dock is Cafe Marina where one can enjoy the view of yachts anchored in the bay through the window. The cruise route starts from Cheongchoho Lake and passes by Seorakdaegyo Bridge and Sokcho Beach, and turns around Jodo Island, one of the eight scenic sights of Sokcho, before returning to the dock.
