Gangneung Museum of Art was opened in September 2006 and re-opened as a museum managed by the city of Gangneung in April 2014. Gangneung Museum of Art has nearly 530,000 m² of exhibition space across two floors, and the building also has a view of Gangneung’s city center as well. Anmokhaebyeon Beach spans over 500 meters in length and covers an area of 20,000 square meters. The beach is often packed with families on vacation. Right in front of the beach is Anmokhang Port, where around 23 fishing boats can be moored to unload their catch throughout the year. The place has also become more popular since the main street along the beach earned the reputation as a "coffee street."
