Hasllacafe is a cafe located on Gangneung Coffee Street, next to Anmokhaebyeon Beach, Gangneung. Its Korean name combines Gangneung’s old name, “Haslla,” with “gabae,” a transliteration of coffee in Korea. Like its name, the cafe takes its aesthetic cues from the modern period of Korea. The café’s interior resemble that of a luxurious palace or a banquet hall in Europe. The view of Anmokhaebyeon Beach by the windows is a perfect backdrop for a defining picture of a trip to Gangneung. The cafe has two floors with rooftop seating. In contrast to the first floor’s dignified retro aesthetics, the latter has an ambience like that of holiday resorts, giving the impression of two separate cafes existing together in one space. The menu includes coffee and other beverages with a wide selection of dessert cakes. Visitors who brought cars can use the public parking lot at Anmokhaebyeon Beach.
This café also offers siphon coffee. Siphon coffee is made by extracting coffee in a condition similar to a vacuum, created using differences in air pressure. The entire process is visible through glass flasks, adding to the retro aesthetics of the space, not to mention the unique flavors created by this process.

Charmsori Gramophone & Edison Science Museum combines a music museum focused on sound with a science museum focused on inventions by Thomas Edison. Opened in 1982, the museum offers over 30 years of history and tradition with over 5,000 collections including music related items and inventions by Edison. Some of the main facilities include four large exhibition halls, a large music room and an observatory with a view of Gyeongpo Lake on the third floor. Edison Museum on the first two floors has three exhibition halls with inventions, artifacts, daily supplies and more.

Gangneung Coffee Festival (강릉커피축제)

Gangneung is as renowned for its delicious coffee as it is for its scenic coastline. Strolling along the cafe-lined beaches of Gangneung, visitors can experience a coffee aroma that rivals the sea breeze. At the opening ceremony, 100 baristas hold a “100 People 100 Tastes” performance where they simultaneously brew hand-drip coffee. Visitors are welcome to taste 100 kinds of coffee at this special event. During the festival, competitions are held to select the No. 1 barista for each category, including latte art, hand drip, and roasting. Anmokhaebyeon Beach spans over 500 meters in length and covers an area of 20,000 square meters. The beach is often packed with families on vacation. Right in front of the beach is Anmokhang Port, where around 23 fishing boats can be moored to unload their catch throughout the year. The place has also become more popular since the main street along the beach earned the reputation as a "coffee street."
