Gamchusa Temple (감추사)

Gamchusa Temple is a small temple in Yongjeong-dong in Donghae. There are only four buildings in the premises, but each building is neatly tucked away among the rocks, creating a picturesque scene. Most temples located near the sea are usually popular prayer spots, believed to be overseen by the Buddha and the Dragon King, who resides in the ocean. As such, many flock to the temple to pray asking for family well-being and prosperity. By the entrance of the temple is a five-story pagoda, which is said to have been built by a man who wanted to grant his mother's will before passing away. Due to its location by the sea, the temple offers spectacular views of the surrounding valley cliffs and the ocean.

The Hanseom Gamseong Sea Trail is a 2.2-kilometer-long trail, connecting Hanseomhaebyeon Beach, Gobulgae, and Gase Village. Donganjae is a hanok-style pension built of pinewood and red clay and located in Donghae-si, Gangwon-do. All rooms are ondol-heated and equipped with a shower booth and bidet, and offer scenic views from the numaru floor. The hanok uses geothermal heating (from 150 metres underground) which makes the rooms warm and cozy. Residents can bathe their feet in the fountain in the middle of the yard, and enjoy a morning walk on the pine tree trail behind the house. Donganjae is conveniently located a 10-minute walk from the Donghae City Bus Terminal.

The 20-meter wide shoreline is 200 meters in lenth, all covered with white sand. The beach also has rocks along the coast that act as a natural breakwater, preventing rough waves from entering the shore, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for swimming.

Pencil Museum, located in Donghae, is the first museum in Korea dedicated to pencils and has a collection of over 3,000 pencils from 100 countries worldwide. The exhibition consists of a pencil history corner and a themed exhibition that displays art pencils and character pencils. The museum also has an experience center where visitors can test out different kinds of pencils and a dedicated collection exhibit area. The 4th floor consists of an art shop and a cafe where one can enjoy the view of the East Sea.

Nongoldam-gil Street, formed in 1941, was transformed in 2010 with the "Nongoldam-gil Street" project by the Donghae Culture Center. With the help from the village seniors and local artists, the street became a canvas storytelling the history of Mukhohang Port and the lives of the villagers. There are also many cafes located along the street, perfect for taking a break to enjoy the view.

Dojjaebigol Haerang Observatory (도째비골 해랑전망대)

Dojjaebi is a dialect for dokkaebi, a mythical goblin in Korean folklore. Dojjaebigol Haerang Observatory, a 85-meter pedestian overpass, is designed to take the shape of a club known to be used dokkaebi. The word "haerang" means "the space where the sun, the sea, and you are all together." The entrance to the obsertory overpass is designed to give a sense as if one is warping into the realm of dokkaebi. The bridge floor is built using glass and mesh so that visitors can see the ocean water under their feet.
