El gran monje Wonhyo (617-686) una vez comentó que 4 días no eran suficientes para apreciar la belleza del monte Daedunsan. La montaña está dividida en tres áreas: Geumsan, Nonsan y Wanju; y cada una tiene características distintas. El área de Geumsan es lugar de la batalla de la Guerra de Imjin (invasión japonesa 1592-1598) y del histórico templo Taegosa.
