El Parque Nacional Marítimo Hallyeo fue designado Parque Nacional en 1968. Se compone de la costa del Sur y las Islas Namhaedo y Geojedo del litoral austral. El Parque Nacional Marítimo Hallyeo es famoso por la isla Odongdo, la cual se encuentra cubierta de camelias y plantas subtropicales; los increíblemente bellos amaneceres y ocasos de Haegeumgang de Geojedo; y la isla Bijindo, famosa por su planta autóctona el ‘Árbol de Palsoni’.

Otra isla especialmente importante es Hansando, por haber sido escenario de victoria del almirante Yi Sun-shin durante la Guerra de Imjin (invasión japonesa al territorio coreano en 1592). Playa de Guijarros Hakdong (학동흑진주몽돌해변)

Rodeada por los montes Nojasan (565 m) y Garasan (580 m), la playa de guijarros Hakdong provee un ambiente muy acogedor. Este espacio recibió el nombre de Hakdong porque se dice que su aspecto se parece a una grulla elevándose en vuelo hacia el cielo; y comparado con otras playas, se la siente de forma peculiar por sus pequeños guijarros, llamados mongdol en coreano, que se extienden por el litoral de 1,2 km de largo y 50 m de ancho, cubriendo un área de 30.000 ㎢ desde la roca Yongam. La sensación al andar por sobre estos mongdol es agradable y el sonido que producen las olas al chocar contra ellas es sumamente placentero. Además, caminando sobre ellas con los pies desnudos, se obtiene el mismo efecto que la digitopuntura; así que, al pasearse por estas playas, se matan dos pájaros de un tiro: se obtiene placer y salud al mismo tiempo.

El bosque de camelias silvestres, un monumento natural, que se extiende a lo largo del litoral, crea un paisaje hermoso cuando sus capullos rompen en flor entre febrero y marzo. También se puede llegar a observar los ejemplares pájaros palsaekjo, de 8 colores, que migran entre junio y septiembre. A esta playa llegan un montón de visitantes veraniegos pues es el lugar perfecto para pasar las vacaciones en familia. Como centro de veraneo, sus aguas son cristalinas y es posible acampar en la playa.

Alrededor del balneario hay restaurantes excelentes especializados en hoe, pescado crudo en pequeños filetes, y también albergues de descanso, residencias familiares bien equipadas. Asimismo, durante el verano tiene lugar un festival playero. Además, dispone del servicio de barco que comienza su excursión en Hakdong y sale hacia la Isla Haegeumgang y la Isla Paradisíaca Oedo. Puede ser muy romántico hacer una excursión en barco a través de las aguas color carmesí del ocaso de Haegeumgang.

Sonanggo Pension is built on a 19,834m² area overlooking Jisepohang Port. The word “sonanggu” is a Gyeongsangnam-do vernacular for “pine tree." As the name suggests, there are lots of pine trees in the area. The pension consists of two log cabins and a yard, both of which are situated right in the middle of a pine grove. The owner of the pension built the buildings here so that guests can enjoy a panoramic view of the landscape of Jisepo Port, with the buildings facing south for sunlight. Two two-story buildings are built with logs and red clay, giving them a natural look and feel. The garden is full of flowers, trees, and wild flowers grown by the owner for over 17 years. The yard with stair steps is 6,611m² wide, and it mainly consists of pine trees and natural rocks. There are tables, low wooden bench, and traditional Korean lookout hut for the guests to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. The pension has a total of 10 guestrooms in two buildings named “Yanghandang" and “Hwasaengdang.” There are rooms of different sizes that can accommodate between two and eight people, so be sure to choose the right room to suit your needs when booking. All the guestrooms are furnished with modern kitchen and bathroom. In the yard are “Red Clay and Stone Plates” built with a traditional Korean floor heating system for those wishing to have a barbecue. You can also cook potatoes and Korean pancakes on the 4cm-thick stone plates heated by firewood.
