Helios Motel is located in the northernmost part of the East Coast in Sokcho, Gangwon-do. The motel is named after the god and personification of the sun in Greek mythology because the place is well-known for the beautiful sunrise and sunset. El templo Naksansa se ubica a 4 km hacia el norte de la playa Naksan y tiene una historia de 1.300 años. Este templo fue fundado por Uisang, el embajador del 30mo. rey de Silla (57 a.C -935 d.C). Posee en su interior una pagoda de piedra de siete niveles, Dongjong, Hongyaemun y otros patrimonios culturales. Uisang nombró Naksan a este lugar, donde aprendió las oraciones de “Gwansae-eumbosal” después de sus estudios en China. Este templo fue reconstruido varias veces y la forma actual fue completada en 1953.
La entrada al templo Naksansa se realiza por Iljumun y Hongyaemun. Cuando entre al templo por Hongyaemun, podrá ver árboles de bambú negro y paredes de piedra y barro a ambos lados del santuario. La puerta posterior, junto a la campana de cobre, lleva a un pequeño camino en el norte de la playa Naksan y al pabellón Uisangdae y la ermita Hongnyeonam. Uisangdae es un pabellón construido sobre un acantilado junto al mar, el lugar donde Uisang solía meditar. Hongnyeonam es una ermita budista construida por Uisang, sobre una cueva de piedras. En el piso del santuario, hay un hoyo de 10 cm. por donde se puede ver el mar. Pasando el pabellón Uisangdae, sobre el camino de Sinseonbong, hay una imponente estatua budista de piedra llamada Haesugwaneumsang, de 16 metros de altura.
