El jjimdak, que se prepara con aderezo de galbijjim, fideos de batata y diversos vegetales, se hizo famoso en todo el país por su sabor dulce y picante, su precio razonable y su porción generosa, cambiando la denominación de "Calle del Pollo" a "Calle del Jjimdak". Actualmente, están aglomerados unos 30 restaurantes y los fines de semana es visitada por más de 20 mil turistas. Si bien el jjimdak de Andong no es un plato tradicional, se puede saber que existió una receta similar a través de Suunjapbang y Eumsik Dimibang, dos de los libros de recetas más antiguos de Corea.
