Gyeongpodae es famoso como lugar de visita para mirar la luna el 15to. día del primer mes lunar. Se ubica a 6 km. hacia el norte desde el centro de Gangneung y ha sido designado como Patrimonio Cultural Regional. Es un pabellón enorme y alto con una arquitectura de techos “paljak”, el estilo más utilizado en las estructuras coreanas y está dividido en 6 secciones frontales y 5 secciones laterales, con 28 pilares que rodean el pabellón. Dentro de este, está el Gyeongpodaebu, que fue escrito por Yul-Gok cuando tenía apenas 10 años. El contenido de este libro es sobre el lento movimiento del cielo, lo que la hace aún más distante, y la clara y brillante luna con luz propia. También hay un poema escrito por Suk-Jong (1095 a 1105), el 15to. rey de la dinastía de Goryeo, y muchas otras obras literarias y poesías de artistas famosos como el Sangryangmun de Ha-Mang Jo (1682 a 1747).

En el área de Gyeongpodae hay otros 12 pabellones, incluyendo el Geumnanjeong, Geumnanjeong, Gyeonghojeong, Banghaejeong y Haeunjeong.
