Para la década de 1830, había muchos mercados cada 5 días en la ciudad de Andong y sus alredores. Algunos de estos mercados eran los de Bunae, Sindang, Pungsan, Sanha-ri, Yean, Ungcheon, Gumi, Dodong y Ucheon, entr otros. Entre ellos, hacia 1909, el Mercado Bunae, que operaba los días terminados en 2 y 7, se convirtió en el más grande, ofreciendo productos agrícolas ganado, pescado y productos regionales, como la tela de ramio y la bebida alcohólica soju de Andong. Este mercado fue fusionado con el Mercado de Sindang en 1963, convirtiéndose en uno que operaba de forma permanente, acompañando el crecimiento demográfico de la población.
