Nongoldam-gil es un camino que va desde el puerto de Mukho hasta el Faro Mukho y que le da nombre al barrio. Hace 30 años, Nongol era el puerto representativo de la pesca de calamares, pero unos 20.000 residentes abandonaron la ciudad ya que los recursos pesqueros disminuyeron. Unas 4.000 personas se quedaron viviendo allí, en un ambiente vacío y silencioso. Para mejorar esa situación del lugar, el Centro Cultural de Donghae presentó el proyecto "Mukho Deungdae Damhwa" al Ministerio de Cultura, Deporte y Turismo. En 2010, el centro comenzó a visitar a las personas mayores que vivían en la aldea Nongol para escuchar sus historias y pintarlas en las paredes de los callejones de la zona. Diferentes artistas hicieron los bocetos de los dibujos y los mayores de entre 60 y 70 años los colorearon hasta crear la calle de los murales de la aldea.
