Desde su apertura, el 10 de octubre de 1973, el Salón Municipal de Busan se ha mantenido como el símbolo del puerto internacional de la ciudad, ofreciendo un espacio cultural abierto a los ciudadanos. En 2001, el salón fue remodelado y ampliado, abriendo de nuevo el 5 de julio de 2002.

El salón consiste en un largo y un pequeño teatro y una sala de exhibiciones. El teatro largo tiene un total de 1.832 butacas y está equipado con una orquestra y un escenario giratorio, perfecto para actuaciones de varios géneros (conciertos, óperas, musicales, etc.). El teatro pequeño, con un total de 335 butacas, provee un ambiente más íntimo para actuaciones modestas. Otras instalaciones en el salón incluyen banquetes, escenarios en el exterior, salas de prácticas, salas de maquillaje, entre otros.

El Salón Municipal de Busan sirve como lugar de conciertos, actuaciones y eventos publicos para la ciudad de Busan.
