Wonjojipbul Gomjangeo Gijang Oegajip opened its doors in March, 1991, commercializing grilled eel over a straw fire. It became the inspiration for other grilled eel restaurants to be established in the neighborhood, building the "Grilled Eel Alley" in Gongsu Village.
