L’histoire de la rue Bupyeong 5-dong Haemultang débuta il y a environ 30-40 ans, alors que seuls 3 restaurants à l’époque y étaient installés. Avec les années, la rue gagna en popularité parce-que l’on pouvait y déguster de délicieux haemultang (ragoût de fruits de mer). On trouve désormais pas moins de 11 restaurants proposant ce mets typique et chacun d’entre eux propose également un choix important de variantes du plat, utilisant des legumes pleins de saveurs et des fruits de mer frais achetés tous les matins au marché local. La rue Haemultang est devenue si populaire qu’elle réussit même à attirer des visiteurs venant de Séoul juste pour le plaisir d’un repas avant de repartir dans la capitale.
