Le Centre d'Animation de Séoul fut établi par la Municipalité de Séoul en mai 1999 avec comme objectif de fournir une aide complète à l'industrie de l'animation et du dessin animé de Corée. Le centre st géré par la Seoul Business Agency et mène diverses activités afin d'étendre la base de l'industrie des contenus culturels et la croissance de ce commerce. Ces activités comprennent des programmes éducatifs, des aides envers les nouveaux talents et productions ainsi que l'organisation d'évènements divers comme un festival du film d'animation.

L'un des principaux complexes de ce centre, l'AniCinema, est un espace multiculturel pouvoir accueillir divers évènements. Son premier objectif est de faciliter l'approvisionnement de films d'animations domestiques aux cinémas et de développer la base des travaux animés en organisant de nombreux festivals promotionnels. La salle possède 179 sièges et des équipements dernier cri pour la projection d'animations numérique et analogique. Elle est également équipée d'un son 5.1 et d'un écran large afin d'augmenter le plaisir des séances.
