Le mont Achasan d'une altitude de 287 m s’étend de Séoul jusqu’à la ville de Guri. Ses pentes douces en font un site de randonnée populaire. Après 40 minutes de marche, les promeneurs arrivent sur un point de vue donnant sur la rivière Han et sur Séoul.
Au temps de la dynastie Joseon, les montagnes à présent connues sous le nom de mont Bonghwa, le cimetière de Manguri et le mont Yongma faisaient tous partie du mont Achasan. On y a découvert 20 bastions qui auraient été construits à l’époque des Trois Royaumes alors que des recherches ont exhumé des ruines de ce qui auraient été des forteresses militaires datant de l’époque de Goguryeo. Suite à l’annonce de ces découvertes, le mont Achasan fut désigné officiellement site national historique en 2004.
