L’espace alternatif Loop (aussi connu sous le nom “Loop”) est une galerie à but non lucratif qui fournie un espace d’exposition et un programme de support pour les jeunes artistes prometteurs. A la fin des années 90, beaucoup d’artistes ne pouvaient pas s’offrir une aire d’exposition dans une galerie et ils avaient du mal à poursuivre leur passion pour l’art. L’idée d’un « espace d’exposition gratuit » est née et le Loop a été créé en février 1999 à Sangsu-dong. En 2005, le Loop a déménagé à Seogyo-dong, son adresse actuelle. .
Au premier étage et au rez-de-chaussé, les travaux des nouveaux artistes sont exposés. Au deuxième étage, il y a un petit café où les visiteurs peuvent faire une pause autour d’un verre, discuter ou lire un des livres de la bibliothèque.
Le Loop présente plus de dix performances et expositions par an depuis son ouverture. La galerie s’engage dans de nombreux échanges internationaux tels que Tirana Biennale et en 2002, elle a été invitée à la Gwangju Biennale en tant qu’espace artistique alternatif.
