Gyeongpodae, situé à 6km au nord du centre-ville de Gangneung, est un lieu privilégié pour observer la lune au 15ème jour du premier mois lunaire. Il s'agit d'un grand pavillon doté d'un toit dit “paljak”, caractéristique du style architectural coréen. Il a été désigné Bien Culturel Régional No. 6.  

Le poème Gyeongpodaebu écrit par Yul-Gok alors qu’il n’avait que 10 ans est conservé à l’intérieur. Ce poème relate le doux mouvement des cieux et la faible lueur de la lune dans l’obscurité. On trouve également un poème de Suk-Jong (1095~1105), le 15ème roi de la dynastie Goryeo ainsi que de nombreux autres recueils littéraires et poésies telles que Sangryangmun de Ha-Mang Jo (1682~1747).

Il y a 12 autres pavillons dans les environs de Geyongpodae, dont Geumnanjeong, Gyeonghojeong, Banghaejeong et Haeunjeong. La meilleure période pour le visiter va de mars à octobre.

Seongyojang House in Gangneung, Gangwon-do, is a Joseon period nobleman's dwelling with more than 100 rooms. Originally built by Moogyeong Lee Naebeon, a descendant of Prince Hyoryeong - the older brother of King Sejong the Great - it has since been frequently updated. With 12 gates and many buildings, Seongyojang is one of the largest surviving traditional houses in Korea. Halraejeong Pavilion was a resting place for Joseon scholars touring the sites of Gangwon-do, it’s famous signboard left by the scholar Chusa Kim Jeonghui. For the convenience of guests, modern toilets and showers are installed in all rooms.
