Situé à seulement trois kilomètres du centre-ville de Busan, la plage Songdo un excellent endroit pour s'échapper de la vie urbaine en été. Elle a été ouverte en 1913, où elle était nommée l'île aux pins, en raison des nombreux pins qui l’entourent. Elle gagné beaucoup en popularité dans les années 1960. C’est à partir de l'année 2000 en raison de dommages causés par les ouragans que la plage a subi une complète restauration pendant 5 années. La zone de sable a été entièrement restaurée et décorée de fontaines.
La vue splendide nuit sur la plage Songdo est réputé pour son ambiance romantique. Le site est aussi l'hôte du festival de la mer, et du festival des chants Hyeonin de Busan chaque été. A proximité se trouvent beaucoup d’attractions comme le marché Jagalchi et le parc Amnam.
