Program of events : “Nanta” is not just the title of the show. It’s a proper noun that symbolizes Korean non-verbal performances. Since its premiere in 1997, the show has reached an estimated 16 million people in 61 countries around the world and is now a must-see for visitors to Korea, serving as a reliable messenger of Korean culture to the world. The show tells the hilarious story of a kitchen in the run-up to a wedding reception. Under the direction of a demanding manager, three chefs and a new apprentice race against time to prepare the food. The process becomes “Nanta,” a performance where kitchen utensils are transformed into percussion instruments, creating a dynamic and rhythmic experience. True to its title, which means “to beat and pound,” the lively beats of the utensils tug at the heartstrings of the audience. The rhythm of a Korean traditional percussion quartet combined with a modern performance is the main attraction of the show. This uniqueness has transcended language barriers and captured the hearts of audiences around the world. In 2017, the company opened a dedicated theater attached to a hotel in Jeju City. Now, you can experience the world-class Non-verbal performance at Jeju, Korea’s most popular tourist destination.
