The Hangang Moonlight Night Market is a Seoul-style night market where visitors can find food trucks offering a variety of foods, high-quality handicrafts, and even rich performances. The Hangang Night Walk 42K is the only nighttime walking marathon in the nation, starting and ending at Nogeum Fountain at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul. The marathon features three courses: 15K, 22K, and 42K to enjoy the hot summer night. The courses all feature beautiful views, such as the Banpodaegyo Bridge Rainbow Fountain. Because the marathon is a walking one and not running, people of all ages can participate, talking the night away as they walk.

Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park in central Seoul was the first ecological park in Korea, opened on September 25, 1997. Mapodaegyo Bridge connects Yonggang-dong, Mapo-gu and Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu. The bridge is 1,400 meters long and 25 meters wide (6-lane road), and was the fourth bridge to be built over the Hangang River, following the construction of Hannam Bridge. The construction of the bridge first started in February of 1968 and was completed in May of 1970. At the time of its completion the bridge was named Seouldaegyo Bridge, but was later changed to Mapodaegyo Bridge in 1984.

Yeouido Park is a large recreational area located on Yeouido Island in the central part of Seoul. It was once originally covered with black asphalt, and people frequented the place for bicycling and roller-skating. The construction began in 1997 and opened officially in February 1999. It is now the place where many people in the city come to rest and enjoy strolling around, playing sports, and cultural events.

Saenamteo Catholic Holy Place of the Martyrs (새남터기념성당)

When taking the subway from Seoul Station to Yongsan Station, you will notice a tall and distinct hanok (traditional Korean architecture) building; this is Saenamteo Catholic Holy Place of the Martyrs. Construction of the building began in 1984, the year of the 200th anniversary of Catholicism in Korea, and was completed after three years.

Also called "Nodeul" and "Sanamgi," Saenamteo was used as a military training ground during the early Joseon period. It was also the place where convicted felons and the Sayuksin (the six martyred ministers) were executed.

Many Catholics were executed here during the Sinyu Persecution of 1801, the Gihae Persecution of 1839, the Byeongo Persecution of 1846, and the Byeongin Persecution of 1866. Among those executed were 11 priests including the first Korean priest Kim Taegon (Andrew), the first Chinese priest that came to Korea Ju Mun Mo (Jacobus), the first French priest that came to Korea Bishop Imbert and other Catholics including Hyeon Seok-mun. There is also an altar here where the remains of nine Catholic saints are enshrined.
