Baegam Jeil Sikdang, located near Dae Jang Geum Park, is renowned for its signature dish, sundae gukbap (blood sausage and rice soup). The experience of enjoying their sundae with kimchi and diced radish kimchi, paired with the thick soup cooked in a cauldron, is delightful. The Baegam sundae, believed to have originated in Baegam-myeon, was developed to satisfy the hunger of people visiting the large cattle market there during the Joseon dynasty. It is known for its chewy texture, abundant vegetables, and pork head meat. Nearby attractions such as Everland, the Korean Folk Village, and the Mulhyanggi Arboretum offer additional experiences to enrich your visit to the area.

Founded in 1970 by displaced North Koreans seeking national reconciliation, Waujeongsa Temple is nestled among the magnificent peaks of Yeonhwasan Mountain. The temple is home to Yeolbanjeon Hall, Daegakjeon Hall, and Beomjonggak Pavilion. Notable among its statues are the twelve-meter-long Reclining Buddha in Yeolbanjeon Hall and Buldu, an eight-meter-high Buddha’s head statue located at the temple’s entrance. Additionally, the temple features unique Buddha statues from across Asia, including the Stone Tower of Unity, constructed with stones from Buddhist holy sites, and a jade Ascetic Statue of Shakyamuni.

Samsung Transportation Museum, the nation’s first automobile museum, is located near Everland. It serves as a children’s traffic safety learning space. The museum displays a collection of over 700 world-famous pieces including 50 cars, 15 motorcycles, bicycles, horse-drawn carriages, and other transportation-related articles such as vehicle prototypes, parts, hood ornaments, souvenirs, and artwork. There are many hands-on programs for visitors to learn about transportation safety.
