Seomun Market opened in its current location in the 1920s after reclaiming the Cheonhwangdangji Reservoir, but it has a much longer history. In the Joseon dynasty, Seomun Market was one of three major markets in the nation. It was called Seomun Market because it was located on the west side of the Daegu Fortress. Despite relocating, the alleyways of the original market still feature names of the items available there, such as Hongdukkae Pancake and Chicken Pancake Alley. Textile-related goods are the main products available now, but they also offer a little bit of everything else, including silk goods, dry goods, undershirts, crafts, dishes, clothes, and dried seafood.

Old Guam Seowon is a traditional Korean guesthouse located between Dongseong-ro and Seomun Market in Daegu. With land area of 2,300㎡, it has a total of six guestrooms, a shared living room, a bathroom, and a kitchen. Daegu Medicinal Herb Wholesale Market, also known as Daegu Yangnyeongsi, is a major herbal medicine market specializing in the practices of Oriental medicine. The market dates all the way back to the Joseon dynasty, when the governor of Gyeongsang-do at that time supplied the best medicinal herbs to the central administrative office and sold the rest to the commoners. Among the many cities that served as suppliers of herbal medicine, Daegu survived as the longest and remained the most active. Until 1910, Daegu was at the center of the herbal medicine world, providing Oriental medicine to travelers from all around the world including Japan, China, Russia, Manchuria and many other countries. Gyonam YMCA (교남YMCA)

Established in December 1921, the Gyonam YMCA Hall served as a gateway to the modern movement in Daegu. During the Japanese colonial period, it was a meeting place and a base for Christian national movements such as the Product Promotion Movement, the Christian Rural Movement, and the Singanhoe Movement. This hall is a two-story red brick building built by the American missionary Blair in 1914. It retains the characteristics of the 1910s and '20s masonry construction, such as decorating the first and second floors with cornices and securing a square window with arches. In the early days, it was used as a place for students' education, evening classes, and lectures.

Daegu Jeil Church is the oldest Protestant Church in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province. Initially established in 1898 over four tile-roofed houses, Daegu Jeil Church was rebuilt in 1933 with traditional and Western architectural designs. Subsequently, Deacon Lee Ju-Yeol dedicated a 33m bell tower in 1937, whlie the church underwent an interior renovation in 1969, and an expansion in 1981.

In conjuction with its physical development, which was at the forefront of the nation's architectural modernization, the church contributed largely to modernization and expansion of Christianity in the region as well as in Korea. In addition, by introducing modern medicine and education to the citizens of Daegu, the founders of Daegu Jeil Church stimulated social development in the region.
