Seoul International Writers' Festival was founded in 2006 with aims to lay a foundation for connecting Korean literature and international literature. This year's theme is "() Meets the Eye," inviting attendees to explore the beauty of literature that is much more than meets the eye.

Myeongdong Cathedral (서울 명동성당)

Myeongdong Cathedral is the Church for Archdiocese of Seoul and was also the birthplace for the Roman Catholic Church community in Korea. The church houses the remains of several individuals: Bishop Laurent Joseph Marie Imbert (1796-1839), and priests Peter Simon (1803-1839), James (Jacques Honor Chastan, 1803-1839) and Pourthie Jean Antoine Charles (1830-1866) and four martyrs.

Myeongdong Cathedral is located in downtown Seoul and tourists frequently come and visit the place. Near the cathedral are other tourism spots such as Namsangol Hanok Village preserving Korean traditional houses, N Seoul Tower overlooking Seoul and Namdaemun Market, a traditional market with a wide variety of food and goods.

Namsan Arts Center, reopened as a creative space in Seoul in September 2009. It redefined the colors and characteristics of the theater, aiming for a modern theater production center centered on creative premieres, a contemporary performance venue where visitors can feel the pulse of the times, and a theater capable of various experiments.
Namsan Arts Center Drama Center is the first modern folk theater in Korea and the oldest performance hall in which the original architectural form has been preserved. Under the concept of "Contemporary & New Wave," the center continues to produce domestic original plays, and through active exchanges with excellent overseas theaters, build a repertoire of high-quality works that can read domestic and overseas trends, and present contemporary cultural diversity.

D-cube Arts Center (디큐브아트센터)

D-cube Arts Center is a state-of-the-art theater dedicated to musicals in D-cube City in Sindorim built by Daesung Energy. It took eight years to complete the 1,242-seated theater with the cooperation of Korea's best music and construction engineers and expert stage technicians. It is the largest theater in southwestern Seoul and can accommodate all kinds of musical performances. Diverse musicals were held at this center, including Mamma Mia!, Man of La Mancha, Chicago, and Rent. The center also has necessary amenities like a rehearsal room and dressing room. Not only is D-cube Arts Center easy to reach by public transportation, but it is also easy to find thanks to the passageway that connects the center from and to Sindorim Station (Seoul Subway Lines 1 & 2). D-cube Arts Center aims to act as the centerpiece of cultural arts and contribute to artistic interaction in the Sindorim area in Seoul's southwest.

The Children’s Museum of the National Folk Museum of Korea (국립민속박물관&국립민속박물관 어린이박물관)

Uyungmyeongwan is a noodle restaurant specializing in uyungmyeon (beef noodle soup) located near Cheonggyecheon Stream. Ichon Hangang Park is built along the Hangang Park in Yongsan. From the park, one can see the Hangang River up close, and one can also find sports facilities like soccer fields, jokgu fields, inline skating rink, water sports facilities, bicycle paths, as well as a nature learning center built around a restored wetland and a lawn. One can follow the Hangangdaegyo Bridge to enter into the Nodeulseom Island, an island in the middle of the river.

Whanki Art Museum (환기미술관)

Whanki Art Museum exhibits the works of Kim Whanki (1913-1974), the pioneer of Korean abstract art. Kim was inspired by traditional features such as Korean mountains and streams, the sky, moons and clouds, the white porcelain and traditional patterns, and worked to express them in abstract forms through points, lines, and surfaces. The main collection features nearly 300 works by Kim. One can also find an art shop and a café.
