Geumdanggyegok Valley, located upstream of the Pyeongchanggang River, is a gorge between three different districts of Bongpyeong-myeon, Yongpyeong-myeon and Daehwa-myeon, just west of Geumdangsan Mountain (1,173 m). Geumdanggyegok Valley is an impressive site with sections of both gentle and fast flowing valley waters. From late March through April full-blown azalea covers the mountainsides and valleys providing visitors with a refreshing spring scent.

To reach Geumdanggyegok Valley, travel down along the Pyeongchanggang River from Jangpyeong or trek up the valley from Anmi Elementary School. Coming down to Pyeongchang-eup from Daehwa-myeon area, visitors will encounter an intersection called, “Saechugeori”. The intersection has two parts: Sanganmi and Haanmiri and a sign indicating the Geumdanggyegok Valley entrance. Across the valley, odd-shaped rock formations and cliffs appear one after another along the river. The area is a native habitat for a species of otter (Natural Treasure No. 330) and a favorite spot for catching catfish.

Paragliding is controlled by the power of body weight. Hang gliding and paragliding are both included in manpowered gliders, which refers to gliders weighing less than 50 kilograms in dead weight. Paragliding has the shortest history among air sports, but is the most popular manpower glider.

Anyone can enjoy paragliding and after a 3 to 4-hour training course, participants can take off from a 50 meter steep hill. The total weight of the glide is just 10 kilograms, light enough to carry on one’s back, and carries very little danger if riders follow proper precautions.

Jangamsan Paragliding Field is located near Pyeongchang and the mountain is mainly comprised of stones, making it possible for people to enjoy a real thermal flight experience. The field is suitable for families who wish to enjoy camping with paragliding. The landing field is situated along the Pyeongchanggang River, which is also available for swimming after the flight. The river has a spacious pool on both upstream and downstream, making it a perfect venue for safety clinic education as well.

Jeonggangwon Tourist Farm in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do, is a tourist complex with a farm and wildflower garden, a food museum, and a Korean restaurant - plus a jangdokdae with hundreds of jars full of pickling and fermenting ingredients. It was founded by food researcher Cho Jung-gang to promote Korean food traditions. Accomodation is in traditional hanok or in condominium-style rooms, and guests have free use of a water park, ping-pong tables and a ball park. Breakfast and dinner are provided free of charge, with set meals and various local specialties. There’s a hanbok wearing experience, and pay-for  traditional food-making programs include bibimbap, chilli paste, and rice-cakes.

Hoengseong National SoopCheWon is located 850 meters above sea level on Cheongtaesan Mountain. It is Korea's first national forest education center to be opened and operated by the Korea Forest Welfare Institute. Follow the Neulsolgil trail along the nut pine trees to reach the Forest Healing Center to experience the wellness programs available for visitors of all ages. Visitors can also enjoy nature to the fullest by catching glimpses of small wild animals like squirrels and pine cones among the trees. Snow Lab is a ski and snowboard rental specialty shop located near Phoenix Park in Pyeongchang. Opened in December 1995, Welli Hilli Park is a resort complex located over 48.6 million square meters around Sulibong Peak in Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do. The park is located in a region that often experiences heavy snow, providing the perfect skiing environment. Welli Hilli Park offers state-of-the-art facilities including gondolas that are able to transport 20,000 skiers per hour, and an automatic snow-management system. Welli Hilli Snow Park offers a total of 20 slopes, including seven internationally certified slopes.
