Sanggwan Village, located at the foot of Ansimsan Mountain at Sora-myeon, Yeosu-si, is the first hanok (traditional Korean house) village in Yeosu and one of Jeollanam-do’s Happiness Village. All rooms in Yeosu Hanok Experience Center are furnished with ondol (under-the-floor heating system) and red clay-lined walls for a healthy stay. The house can only be rented as a whole, containing a bedroom, two ondol rooms, a living room, and two restrooms. The house has a building area of 112 m2, with standard occupancy of 10 and the maximum occupancy of 15. Each additional guest above standard occupancy carries a surcharge of KRW 10,000, with exemptions for guests under 7 years of age. All rooms are furnished with toiletries and hair dryer. The kitchen is equipped with kitchen utensils, gas stove, refrigerator, microwave oven, and electric kettle. There is a separate barbecue area, with complimentary grill and charcoal available for renting. The grass lawn has a raised open floor and a 7 m-deep well. Experience programs on offer include traditional games like yunnori (traditional Korean board game), neolttwigi (Korean seesaw), and kite flying, and injeolmi (bean-powder-coated rice cake) making. Guests who wish to take part in the latter must place a reservation at least one week in advance. Free pickup service is offered for Yeosu Airport and Yeosu Bus Terminal. Guests must notify the accommodations at least one hour before arrival. Nearby attractions include The Ocean Resort Waterpark, Yeosu Soho Marina, and Soho Dongdong Bridge.
