La Playa Haeundae es probablemente el balneario más famoso del país. Le debe su nombre de "Haeundae" al sabio maestro Choi Chi-Won (857-?) de la dinastía Silla (57 a.C.-935 d.C), que un día estaba de paso por la isla Dongbaekseom y quedó fascinado por estas playas y dejó grabadas las sílabas "Hae Un Dae" sobre un paredón de piedra de la isla. La Playa Haeundae tiene 1,5 km de longitud y 30 a 50 m de ancho, alcanzando una superficie de 58.400 ㎡. Su blanca arena es áspera y se adhiere fácilmente a la piel. La arena de esta playa está compuesta por granos provenientes del arroyo Chuncheoncheon y los restos de conchas desintegradas naturalmente por la acción del viento a lo largo de mucho tiempo. La playa Haeundae es también famosa por los numerosos y variados eventos culturales que organiza a lo largo de todo el año. En la Playa Haeundae hay también una Plaza Folclórica, donde podrá disfrutar de los juegos tradicionales tales como el neolttwigi (sube y baja que se acciona con saltos), lucha coreana, tuho (tiro de flecha), el juego de la cuerda y yutnori (semejante al juego del ludo). Busan’s Dongnae Hot Springs is an old and famous hot spring whose historic records trace back to Samguk Yusa, in the 13th Century CE. Nokcheon Hotel’s history traces back to Nokcheonjang, a hot springs facility constructed in 1962 with Dongnae Hot Springs water. The hotel itself was constructed in 1980.
