Gangseo Myeonok has been famous for over fifty years, having been the food of choice served to visiting dignitaries from North Korea at the time of the South-North Red Cross Conference. The restaurant has succeeded in carrying on the tradition of Pyeongyang-style naengmyeon. The native buckwheat from Gangwon-do mixed with starch makes for fine noodles, and the wonderful broth is made from beef brisket with white radish kimchi.

Shinsegae a été originellement inauguré comme le magasin Gyeongseong de la chaîne japonaise Miskosi en 1930. Après la libération de la Corée, il est devenu le grand magasin coréen Donghwa. Racheté par le groupe Samsung, il a été renommé « Shinsegae » à l’issue d’une enquête publique.
Le siège social du premier grand magasin coréen se situe au centre de Séoul, dans le quartier Chungmuro, et il est en tête des grands magasins du pays depuis les 70 dernières années.
Bien que situé à Chungmuro, il est considéré comme se trouvant à Myeongdong, car il se situe dans la zone commerciale de celui-ci.
La construction du nouveau bâtiment sera achevée en 2005. Jusque-là, seul le bâtiment principal sera ouvert. Bientôt, la station du métro Hoehyeon mènera au grand magasin. Quoique moins connu, ce grand magasin est plus luxueux et calme, comparé à son homologue Lotte qui se trouve à proximité.

Sushi Kaisin is a luxurious sushi restaruant owned by Japanese Chef Kyousuke Sato. Chef Sato gained much knowledge about seafood through his working experience at fisheries market and two years of experience as a fisher. After building his career as a chef by working at top-notch sushi restaurants and five-star hotels in Japan, Chef Sato opened his very own sushi restaurant in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul in 2017. Fresh ingredients carefully selected and brought in from Jeju Island are prepared into an authentic Edomae sushi through Chef Sato's unique techniques. Although the restaurant is small, allowing up to only six customers at the counter table, Chef Sato ensures that the excellent food and service quality remain consistent as the chef personally tends to every aspect of the restaurant, from selection of ingredients and food preparation to customer service. Chef Sato is able to provide menu explanations and engage in friendly conversations with customers in fluent Japanese, Korean, and English due to his broad experience and expertise from traveling and working over the past years. Université des femmes Ewha (이화여자대학교)

L'université des femmes Ewha est le plus ancien institut éducatif pour femmes du pays. Il fut fondé par Mary F. Scranton en 1886, une missionaire américaine de l'église épiscopale méthodiste. Le nom de l'école “Ewha” fut donné par l'empereur Gojong (le 26ème roi de la dynastie Joseon, 1863~1907). Les trois vertues promues par l'université sont la vérité, la bonté et la beauté. En 1910, un curriculum de 4 années fut introduit mais en 1943, durant le règne colonial japonais, l'école fut privée de son nom “Ewha” et devint un simple institut avec une durée d'enseignement d'un an. Lorsque la Corée fut libérée en 1945, l'école reprit son nom et devint officiellement Ewha Womans University.

Le quartier de l'université féminine Ewha est un des quartier phare de la ville pour le shopping. Les magasins du quartier vendent des vêtements bon marchés et branchés pour les jeunes. Les restaurants du quartier reflètent le goût des jeunes coréennes, on y trouve de nombreuses chaines de restaurants internationales. Les petites rues du quartier valent également la peine d'être visitées. Renowned for its rich soup of cold noodles, the restaurant uses fresh soybeans grown in Gangwon-do. The dishes are not only nutritious, but also effective in restoring people's appetites, often lost because of the summer's heat.

To make the restaurant's signature dish, buckwheat is mixed with ground soybeans and flour to make dough. The dough is shaped into noodles and boiled. They are then mixed with pulverized soybeans (which are slightly boiled) and cold broth. Boasting a simple taste, this cold soybean noodle dish is one of the most popular dishes in summer.
