La rue des livres de la ligne Gyeongui est une rue thématique construite le long d'une ancienne ligne ferroviaire près de Hongdae. Elle incarne de façon contemporaine l'esprit du roi Jeongjo de la fin du 18e siècle, personnage historique qui souhaitait placer la lecture au centre de la société. Ayant pour objectif de permettre aux citoyens de partager et de réaliser leur rêve à travers la lecture ainsi que d'encourager l'industrie du livre du district de Mapo, cette rue a accueilli ses premiers visiteurs en octobre 2016.

L’espace Ssamzie est un complexe pluricuturel ouvert depuis juin 2000. Il est localisé près de l’université de Hongik où se retrouvent brassés art et culture. Différemment de certaines galeries austères, l’espace Ssamzie affiche une atmosphère joviale, ouverte et jeune.

Les étages 1 à 3 ont 3 salles d’expositions spécialisées, la galerie “garage”, la galerie “projet” et la galerie principale. Elles tournent avec 6 à 8 expositions par an.

Dans le “Media Theater”, “Palam (wind)” au 2ième étage, sont programmés des concerts et divers spectacles artisitiques. C’est aussi un endroit où se réalisent souvent des musiciens underground de Corée. A part cela, performances artistiques, films d’avant-garde et spectacles de médias audiovisiuels se produisent aussi de temps à autre.

Le “Event Club”, “Soli (sound)”, au 1er étage. est un lieu de détente où l’on peut écouter de la musique ou regarder un film. Périodiquement, soirées bariolées ou certaines performances sont organisées. De jeunes écrivains ont aussi leur séance de dédicaces ici. C’est vraiment un endroit divertissant! Allez donc de voir un spectacle.

Du 4ième au 6ième étage sont installés des ateliers pour la création de travaux artistiques; c’est un des plus qui fait la différence avec les autres galeries.

Chaque année, l’espace Ssamzie offre l’ accès à de nouveaux artistes pour travailler, et les supporte dans leur travail aussi. A la fin de leur séjour, ils exposent ce qu’ils ont réalisé et font une donation de leur travail.

Afin de voir les anciennes donations, dirigez-vous vers la salle des biens au 7ième étage.

La galerie principale au 3ième étage est fournie d’une boutique d’art où vous pourrez voir les oeuvres créent par les jeunes artistes et les acheter. Vous serez sans doute étonnés par les petites oeuvres d’art ou les nouveautés artistiques.

Dans les environs de l’espace Ssamzie se trouvent de nombreuses boutiques de vêtements ou de bijoux fantaisis. Vous les trouverez dans les rues les plus fréquentées. Le club “Drug” qui est le symbole du divertissement est aussi non loin du quartier de l’université de Hongik, tout comme plusieurs salles de théâtre, des restaurants rapides et le fameux petit théâtre Sanullim. Retenez bien tout cela pour quand vous irez dans le quartier !
