De même que les autres grandes montagnes des environs de Séoul, le mont Suraksan possède sa propre beauté tout au long de l’année. Ses regroupements de petits sommets rappellent les montagnes Seorak ou Wolchul ; et de nombreux trésors se nichent au creux de ses vallées et de ses pics. Au cours de vos explorations dans la montagne et ses alentours, vous découvrirez les chutes d’eau de Geunnyu, Eunnyu et Ongnyu, le temple de Heungguksa construit pendant la dynastie Silla, le temple de Seongnimsa qui remonte à la dynastie Joseon, et le pavillon de Gwesanjeong.

L’un des parcours de randonnée les plus populaires du mont Suraksan démarre à la station de métro Danggogae sur la ligne 4 et passe par le temple de Hangnimsa et par Yongguram. Au printemps, la crête qui sépare le mont Suraksan et le mont Buramsan est recouverte de magnifiques azalées royales.

Le mont Suraksan se trouve à la frontière entre Séoul, Eujeongbu-si et Byeolnae-myeon à Namyangju-si. Le mont Buramsan est situé au Sud de Suraksan et le mont Dobongsan s’élève à l’Ouest. Le mont Suraksan est facilement accessible depuis les transports en commun et c’est une excursion très appréciée des habitants de Séoul.
