Le Village Guwau (Taebaek, Gangwon-do) est l’hôte du Festival des Tournesols de Taebaek, visant à célébrer ce large tableau de fleurs sauvages colorées et les champs sans fin de tournesols (la plus large zone de tournesols en Corée). Le festival a lieu au milieu d’une étendue du 661,157 m² de terre parsemée d'environ 300 sortes des fleurs sauvages tout au long du sentier de promenade des tournesols et avec d'autre programmes liés aux fleurs de sauvages.

High1 Haneulgil Trekking désigne des chemins de promenade autour du mont Baegunsan. Le trekking propose différents parcours dont la route Mureungdowongil, Untangodogil, et Gowonsupgil. Les chemins sont faciles d'accès et faciles à emprunter. Il est possible de redescendre des chemins en utilisant le téléphérique Sky1340.

Le Casino de Kangwon Land fut le tout premier casino en Corée à autoriser l'entrée aux Coréens. Située à Jeongseon (Gangwon-do), la Montagne Mindungsan (1118,8 mètres) est un site original, comparé aux autres sommets nationaux. Comme son nom l’indique (montagne pelée), il n’y a que quelques arbres près de son sommet. Les gens de la région font aussi allusion à la montagne Eoksaesan (eulalie) à cause des vagues d’eulalie couvrant ses côtés. La montagne demeure ainsi car les villageois brulaient les champs une fois par an pour encourager la pousse d’herbes sauvages.

L’inclinaison de la montagne offre une savoureuse expérience de trekking pour les randonneurs de tous niveaux. A la mi-octobre, les eulalies à hauteur de taille sont en effet partout, devenant un challenge pour ces derniers afin de voir les zones environnantes. Heureusement, certains endroits près du sommet offrent des vues des crètes et des coteaux à couper le souffle.

Les eulalies commencent à pousser en septembre et atteignent leurs meilleures couleurs entre octobre et novembre. Le Festival de l’Eulalie se tient à la montagne Mindungsan tous les mois d’octobre et attire des centaines de milliers de participants pour cette expérience de randonnée et les possibilités de photos pittoresques. La montagne est facilement accessible en train, permettant aux visiteurs situés près ou loin de là de profiter des couleurs de l’automne.

Located in Chunyang-myeon, Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Seongamjae is a traditional hanok built with pine trees (Geumgangsong) in 1915. It was owned by Seongam Gang Seungwon, the third son of Uijae Gang Pil of distinguished service to independence. Seongamjae is the place where Mr. Uijae Gang Pil delivered fund to the Provisional Government of Korea in Shanghai, which was then used by the 3rd division of army during the Korean War. Now, the grandson of Mr. Seongam Gang Seungwon and his wife are keeping the place and named it Seongamjae after his grandfather. They run it as a hanok open to the public in order to help spread history and culture. The owner couple has committed themselves to keeping the house and gardening. Nevertheless, the traditional hanok is equipped with modern facilities so that people of all age groups, Koreans and foreigners alike, may have a relaxed time here. Bordering Seongamjae is the National Folk Cultural Asset No. 279 Bonghwa Mansan Gotaek, home to the family of the owner of Seongamjae, and open to everyone who stays in Seongamjae. Cooking is limited in the hanok but there are restaurants nearby. Korean style Yeonbab is provided at 15,000 won per person when breakfast is booked in advance. As Chunyang Station of Yeongdong Line is a 5-minute walk away, the accommodation is conveniently located for train travelers. Note that luggage storage service is provided after check-in while visitors are enjoying walking, trekking, or travelling by train.
