Geumsan Park is a dense evergreen forest near a village in Aeweol-eup, Jeju-si. The forest is the sole evergreen forest remaining in the flatlands of western Jeju, and is home to tall evergreens and 60 species of subtropical plants. The forest is preserved and protected as a Natural Monument and a natural resource for academic research. Collecting plants and hunting in the forest are strictly prohibited.

Teseum Safari is a new concept museum, the first of its kind in the world, exhibiting stitched dolls shaped like wildlife animals, marine animals, flowers, birds and more. The wild animal zone on the first floor has a photo zone for visitors to take photos with lions, tigers, and elephants along with teddy bears. On the second floor, varied animal dolls like dolphins, sharks and marine animals such as octopus, turtle, flamingo, crane, and a flock of ducks are available. On the second floor of Building B, a 4m-tall teddy bear is available for children to play with by running around freely at the playground, as well as watching all the teddy bears appearing in a teddy drama “New Heart.” Teseum Art Gallery shows movie parody teddy bear, Greek mythology parody teddy bear, and world costume teddy bears. Seogwipo Recreational Forest is Korea’s southernmost recreational park that serves as an excellent nature getaway by preserving the mountain’s forest environment and ecosystem while minimalizing manmade structures as much as possible. The park is located approximately 700 meters above sea level, and is 10 °C lower in average temperature compared to that of Seogwipo’s downtown, providing the ideal condition to enjoy forest bathing and camping from spring to fall. The park is easily accessible by car, thanks to the paved road from the mountain’s foothills all the way up to the park’s entrance. It takes about 30 minutes by car from Seogwipo’s downtown to the recreational park. The park is densely packed with trees and the air is filled with the refreshing forest scent, and even has a pebble walking trail suitable for a barefoot massage. The forest is equipped with amenities such as a mountain cottage, forest bathing site, campfire site, cooking area, and auto-camping site. Although the amenities serve to provide visitors’ convenience, they are minimized so as to prevent damage to the forest’s natural environment.

Jungmun Equestrian Park (중문승마공원)

Jungmun Equestrian Park is where visitors can experience horseback riding while looking at the sea, and even beginners can enjoy horseback riding without any concerns. Visitors can choose between a walking course that takes 10–15 minutes and a Beach Olle course that takes 20–25 minutes. The Beach Olle course has a beautiful ocean view and reaches its peak in spring when canola flowers are in full bloom. It is operated under a reservation system in principle, but walk-in is also accepted on a first-come,first-served basis. Visitors are advised to call in advance as programs are subject to cancellation in case of adverse weather.

Gapado Island (가파도)

Gapado Island is Jeju's fourth largest island, located off the southwestern coast. The island is said to look like a ray swimming in the waves, giving the island its name. A bicycle rental shop is located right at the harbor, allowing visitors to tour the entire island in 1-2 hours. The best time to visit Gapado Island is in April and May, when the barley is ripe. During this time, the island holds the annual Green Barley Festival, with plenty of fun events related to this local harvest.

Gwakji Beach is a beach that has nice conditions including a 350-meter-long, 70-meter-wide white sand beach, an average water depth of 1.5 meters and a slope of about 5 to 8 degrees. Thanks to these conditions, a youth training facility was installed and groups of tourists visit here every year. Gwakji-ri is a historic village where shell mounds from prehistoric times were once excavated. According to a local legend, Gwakji Beach used to be a village in the ancient days, but one day, it became buried in the sand.
