Wan Chai is a Chinese restaurant with a name meaning "spicy," and is a must-visit for those who love spicy food. Rather than the original spicy Chinese Sichuan cuisine, a small amount of Korean spices have been added to create even better tasting dishes.

The most popular item on the menu is a large plate of reddened mussels known as the Extra Spicy Stir-fried Mussels. The dish is a mixture of spicy red peppers, garlic, and spicy sauce, stir-fried to perfection. Many customers also come in for the gul jjamppong (spicy noodle soup with oysters). Even the jajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) tastes great here, with clean-tasting black soy bean sauce. Haepungbuwongun Yun Taekyeong's Jaesil is a shrine house built by the father-in-law of King Sunjong of Joseon dynasty in 1906 when his daughter was proclaimed the crowned princess of Joseon and entered Changdeokgung Palace to later become Queen Sunjeong. Red pine trees salvaged from the demolition of Gyeongungung Palace were used to construct the house. It was originally located in Jegi-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, but was later restored and moved to its present location. The shrine of the house that was destroyed in 1960 was also restored.
Because the house is more of a shrine rather than residential living quarters, it has many unique features. For example, unlike other houses, it has the anchae (women’s quarters) located across from sarangbang (men’s quarters) with daecheong (living room) positioned between them.

Naksan Mountain (alt. 125 meters) is one of the four inner mountains of Seoul, and the mountain corresponding to the Azure Dragon of the East. It was also called Naktasan Mountain, which can be translated to Camel Mountain, because the terrain resembled a camel's back. It also had another name, Taraksan Mountain, “tarak” meaning fermented milk, because there was a royal ranch in the area that supplied milk to the palace.
