Once known as Gyeonseongsa Temple, Bongeunsa Temple is located north of COEX, and was constructed in the 10th year of Silla King Weongseong’s reign (794). In 1498, Queen Jeonghyeon refurbished Gyeonseongsa Temple and renamed it Bongeunsa Temple.
Originally located near the Royal Tomb of King Seongjong, the temple was transferred to its current location during Joseon King Myeongjong’s reign. The temple is home to 3,479 Buddhist scriptures of 13 types, including the works of Kim Jeong-hee. The Buddhist ceremony called Jeongdaebulsa is held on the ninth day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, where monks march carrying the scriptures on their heads and recite the Beopseongge (Buddhist rites).

Up until the early 1960's, people would cross the Hangang River from Ttukseom Ferry Dock and arrive in Cheongdam-dong. Although highly developed, Cheongdam Park remains as a soothing natural oasis that is relatively untouched by city pollution. Following the trail, there is a small exercise area and playground. Garak Market, located in Songpa-gu, was the first public wholesale agricultural products market in Korea. The market offers separate sections for fruits and vegetables, meats, and other products in a 543,451 square meter area with over 17 buildings. The first sections to open were the agricultural and fishery markets in 1985. They were followed by the livestock market in 1986 and other direct sales shops opened in 1988.

D MUSEUM greets the general public with its catchphrase, “an art museum where daily life becomes art.” In 2021, the museum relocated to the area near Seoul Forest Park, so that it could accommodate more visitors in its space.
